The PV22 Light is our entry-level video light with enough lumens to help the new photographer experience the benefits of adding artificial light to their subject. Though we typically recommend higher output lights (PV52T, P53, V4K, V6K), the PV22 will still provide good light up to 3 feet away.

The UV-Ultra-Violet version gives the benefit of seeing your subject in a new creative way. Fluorescence is the process in which electromagnetic radiation (light) of one wavelength (color) is absorbed and light of another wavelength is emitted. When using a UV light, you will also want to add a gel cover, or a tinted lens to maximize the full effect.

With the RED light on the standard, you can use the PV22 to focus your camera without interfering with the light bleed. Red is the first color removed underwater, and the primary lights will take over once focused.

Stepless Dimming

All Video and Photo lights from Scubalamp feature step-less dimming; hold the switch, and it will dim in increments of 10% until you reach your desired illumination. Press the button again, and it will go back to a preset high or low mode.

The body is made from machined aluminum and the solid glass front protects the LED from damage. Double O-ring sealed and user-replaceable battery.

NOTE REGARDING LIGHT CIRCUITS and RATED OUTPUT:

All Scubalamp lights use constant current (continuous output) drivers; unlike other brands that use a variable output with 'Big' claims. What this means is that you will achieve full-rated brightness until the battery reaches around 30%. Following, the light will dim to preserve the remaining battery life.

A light that does NOT use a constant current output driver will begin to dim almost immediately. It will continue to dim as the battery is depleted and the voltage drops. This means that a light rated at 2000 lumens, will only be around 1500 (or so) within the first few minutes. Buyers beware of large output claims for the rated batteries. This is one of the main reasons why we recommend our lights in addition to the durability and quality.
